Projective Talent

Nicola’s journey to becoming a Business Analyst

Date:September 19, 2023

Nicola Krynin joined Projective Talent a while ago. “Even though I’m usually a doubter, this decision was a no-brainer,” says Nicola. In this interview Nicola tells you all about his background and trajectory at Projective Talent ànd Projective Group. Want to know why Projective Talent is a great place for doubters, and why he’s so grateful to his coach? Then read on!

Hi Nicola, can you tell us about your academic background?

“I studied Business Administration with a major in Business Information Management. My Bachelor years were quite general, focusing on how organisations work, economy, and so on. My Master year was more technical: data analysis, business systems, etc. My favourite part of school was when we got to work on practical use cases. For example, we were asked to streamline business for a brewery that had recently acquired another brewing company. I learned a lot from those projects.”

Sounds interesting. So after school, about a year ago, you joined Projective Talent. What about the company sparked your interest?

Like many graduates, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. There are so many choices, it’s quite stressful. One thing I did know, was that I didn’t want to just work somewhere. I wanted to keep learning, and that’s exactly what I found in Projective Talent. The learning curve is amazing here.

Another important selling point for me was the fact that your professional growth and coaching isn’t necessary linked to the client you work for. That gives you the freedom to learn what you really want to learn, not what your boss or your role requires from specifically. Your coach really advocates for you to get those opportunities, and they guide you through your decisions. That’s why I’d like to give a big shout out to my coach, who really did a lot for my growth over the past year!

Projective Talent is a true connection hub, through which you get to meet peers who are working at other companies. It’s nice to share your experiences and build strong ties with people in comparable situations.

Third, it’s nice to have the Projective Talent community next to your colleagues at the client, where you spend most of your time. You mentioned your coach. What was the most valuable you got out of your relationship with her?

“I could always talk freely to her. Things could be chaotic in my head sometimes, but my coach always knew how to structure my thoughts. Together we would figure out what to do about every point. That made things a lot simpler for me. Having her by my side reassured me about what I needed to do and calmed me down. So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank her again for all she did for me.”

Not so long ago, you integrated into Projective Group. What was that experience like for you?

“I’m a bit of an exception compared to my Projective Talent colleagues, because my client is Projective Group, where I work as a Business Analysis Consultant across Financial Services. It felt really good to get that offer. I knew I was doing a good job, but it’s nice to get that recognition from the company. It means that they see my progress as well, and they appreciate me. Even though I’m usually a doubter, this decision was a no-brainer. I’d been working at Projective Group for a year, so I knew that it’s a place where I want to stay long term. The transition went really smoothly as well.”

What is it about Projective Group that you like so much?

“I like the flat structure. There’s no gap between management and young talents. And there’s so much in-house experience to learn from as well. So a great environment for me to be!”

I like the flat structure. There’s no gap between management and young talents.

“It’s nice to see that all these people share a goal. They want to do better, they want to grow. That’s what Projective Group is about: acquiring more expertise, becoming bigger, better, stronger. I’m glad to be a part of that. We’re all working towards the same mission, and it feels good that I can put my two cents in.”

One final question: what would you say to people who are having doubts about joining Projective Talent?

“Having doubts just means that you’re not taking this important decision about your future lightly. It’s a sign that you’re capable of thinking critically about what you want to do and who you want to be. So I’d say, if you’re doubting, all the more reason to choose Projective Talent. Projective Talent is a great place to be if you’re not 100% sure yet. They help you figure out what you want, and they support you in attaining those goals, through the extensive training and coaching they provide.”

I’d say, if you’re doubting, all the more reason to choose Projective Talent.
