Build Your Own Bank (workshop)
During this highly interactive one-day workshop, you will learn what it takes to operate a bank. The best way to visualize this and to reflect on all aspects of running a bank is to go step-by-step through the use case of creating a new bank.
This workshop is an ideal instrument for a teambuilding event with a team of people who work in a bank but don’t have a background in the financial industry (for example IT teams, HR teams, … of a bank). It’s a fun and engaging way of working together on an exercise, which at the same time gives the team members meaningful insights in the business model of their employer and how they can contribute individually to the success of their company.
Course objectives
Each participant will better understand:
- the business model of their employer
- how they can contribute individually to the success of their company
- what are the departments in the organisation other than their own and what are the mutual dependencies between their own department and the other departments
Course outline
This is not a traditional training, rather an interactive workshop that is built around one large exercise of creating a new bank. Throughout the process, participants will be asked to reflect about certain topics and will each time also hear the theory around that subject.
Hereby an overview of topics that will be covered:
- What is the business model of a bank and how does it generate profit?
- What are the requirements when applying for a bank license?
- Which regulations does a bank have to comply with?
- Which departments play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of a bank?
